Rounding off a non-stop year Asta Hiroki releases the second single ‘Fold’ on his own newly minted Folded Music imprint.

A successful label launch saw the opening single ‘Half-Bloom’ added to the coveted ‘Jazztronica’ playlist on Spotify as well as some high profile radio support across the world.

New single ‘Fold’ once again finds the producer creating at the intersection between jazz, electronica and hip hop.

Dusty beats and sub bass cut through a plethora of jazz-tinged instruments for a nuanced and melodic journey that packs a heavy low end. Silky Fender Rhodes lines fall easily like folds as the track unfurls, with the mid section taking the listener on a brief key change detour before returning back to a deconstruction of the original motifs.

There’s enough musicality and points of interest to differentiate from the typical lofi beat makers and remind listeners of the producers jazz piano skills. Emotive and powerful - ‘Fold’ is an abstract impressionist take on the jazzbeat style in keeping with Asta Hiroki’s signature sound.

He won over a host of fans with his critically acclaimed album ‘Entropy’ earlier this year, gaining traction at radio and press that is uncommon on a debut.

Achieving numerous awards including ‘Album of the Month’ on French radio station FIP, Album of the week on BBC 6Music and a special guest mix on Huey Morgan’s show, as well as significant play from SiriusXM, JazzFM, Worldwide FM were just some of the radio highlights. While Bandcamp, XLR8R, Magnetic Mag, La Belle Musique, and EARMILK all got behind the tracks on press.
